Instructional Technologist

THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2024-2025 School Year An ideal candidate will have several years of experience as a classroom teacher, and have a working knowledge of integrating technology into the classroom.
A familiarity with all popular social media platforms and an entry to mid-level skill set with graphic design is also a plus.
Performance & Responsibilities - The duties of the IT Specialist: Instructional Technology and Public Information position will include, but are not limited to the following: Serve as a liaison between the Technology and Instruction for the benefit of students and staff Will perform ongoing and structured training sessions with staff on subjects such as educational software, testing software, and other generic technology information.
Disseminate information to the public, staff and students via popular social media platforms utilized by PISD as well as "all-call" text and email services and the district website.
Assist with the districts 1:1 Chromebook initiative as it relates to Instructional Technology Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Technology Director Special Knowledge/Skills: Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in solving problems Good communication skills - the applicant should be able to communicate both verbally and in writing Be organized and able to maintain appropriate documentation in a variety of situations Maintain a large learning curve, building knowledge and skills as needed Possess the ability to learn new operations, set priorities, and work well under pressure Basic ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and peripherals issues.
