Experienced Pipe Welder

AtWork Personnel is seeking to hire experienced Pipe Welders for a local fabrication warehouse that is located in Kilgore, TX! Shift: Days, 6am-4pm Schedule: Monday through Friday Compensation: $26 an hour Job duties: • Laying, fitting, and welding pipes - primarily in a 1G and 5G position.
• Weld and repair pipping according to ASME B31.
3 code and the company's welding procedure specifications.
• Ensure welding equipment is in good working conditions.
• Monitor welding to minimize shrinking, expansion or distortion of work pieces.
Requirements: • 1+ year of experience pipe welding.
• Ability to pass a Pipe Welding test (5G 2" s160) • Ability to read pipe drawings and blueprints.
Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED • Adhere to company policy, procedures, and rules.
• Ability to work hours necessary to meet plant requirements Client Weld Test • Competency test (ASME 5G 2” s160): Pass a pipe weld test of welding two pieces of 2” Sch 160 pipe together in the 5G position using the parameter of MES' in-position WPS.
The weld will be radiographed (x-rayed) and then bend tested (two cap bends and two root bends) to make sure the weld is of sufficient quality.
Results will be either pass or fail.
